Warning When Installing on Mac or Windows? How to Open Bigger Subs

Your computer shows a warning the first time you open a new app that doesn't come from the App Store or the Microsoft Store. It only means your computer doesn't know the app yet. Bigger Subs is safe, and opening it takes a few clicks.

Mac

The message says Apple could not verify “BiggerSubs.pkg” is free of malware.

1. Click Done to close the warning. Don't move the file to the Trash.
2. Open System Settings › Privacy & Security.
3. Scroll down to Security. You'll see a line about “BiggerSubs.pkg”. Click Open Anyway.
4. Enter your Mac password (or use Touch ID) and click Open. The installer starts: follow it as usual.

Older macOS (Ventura or earlier): hold Control, click the file, choose Open, then click Open again.

Windows

A blue window says “Windows protected your PC”.

1. Click More info.
2. Click Run anyway. The installer starts: follow it as usual.

If your browser warns first that the file isn't commonly downloaded (Edge or Chrome), open the downloads list, click the … menu next to the file and choose Keep.

Why does this happen?

Mac and Windows trust apps more as more people install them. A new app gets these warnings for a while, even when it's safe. You only see them the first time: after that, Bigger Subs opens normally.

Common questions

Is it safe to click “Open Anyway” or “Run anyway”?

Yes, for the installer you downloaded from our page. Bigger Subs works on your own computer and your footage never leaves it.

I don't see “Open Anyway” on my Mac.

Try to open the installer once first, then go back to Privacy & Security. The button appears for about an hour after that attempt.
